I think it’s safe to say that 100% of us have made something up at one point in our lives or another. It could have been an “innocent” tiny fib, a downright lie or something in between. Maybe you wanted to have a friend so you made one up. Maybe you didn’t want to cause a fight so you gave a response that was dishonest. Either way, we’ve all done it!

Enter in “Her Imaginary Husband” by Lia London.

If you don’t know who Lia London is by now, then it is time you learn. This woman has helped me in more ways than she’ll ever know. She is not only an amazing author, but she is founder and chief administrator of Clean Indie Reads, a blog that features a variety of talents that are all related to the independent publishing world. You can see the great job she did with my books on her blog at http://cleanindiereads.com/neighbors/

Check out the blurb for “Her Imaginary Husband”:

New teacher, Nikki Fallon, is trying to ward off the lecherous attention of Coach Carlin. She should
a) slap him silly.
b) report him for harassment.
c) invent an imaginary husband.

Nikki opts for “C” and is not prepared for how the plan backfires!

Doesn’t that sound like an interesting read? It sure did to me! After all, this woman is going to make up a husband! “Her Imaginary Husband” is a sweet, romantic, hilarious story. I was hooked from page one, and my attention was held until the last page. I believe Lia London did an amazing job with character development, and the story as a whole flowed nicely.

Two extra-funny parts were: “Don’t sass your ma,” something Nikki’s mom would say ALL THE TIME; and “Shaboobaloo,” Nikki’s form of swearing.

In this clean, full length novel, I was rooting for a certain outcome, which I got, BUT with a pleasant surprise twist thrown in. The ending was phenomenal! Teens and everyone older would enjoy it.

Needless to say, I had to rate this book 5 stars!
