I’m not going to pretend to know everything about the subject because I clearly don’t. I really have no clue as to who really wants what, BUT I do know that the president, as well as others, are trying to push for stricter gun laws. Here is my take on that…
-I do believe that in order to get a gun, security measures must be in place.
-I do not believe in gun free zones
-I believe everyone has the right to carry their own gun (as long as they passed all those security measures)
-I do not believe that stricter gun laws will solve any issues
With everything that has happened in San Bernardino, as well as other homicides and mass shootings, it’s not about the gun. And no matter how strict of a law you create or how many loops someone has to go through to obtain a gun, a person who wants a gun bad enough to kill will be able to get a gun to kill. Or they’ll just find some other way to kill.
And that’s the bottom line. It’s not the gun that kills people. It’s not the knife or bomb or poison or whatever the method of killing is that kills people. IT’S A PERSON THAT KILLS PEOPLE. It’s a heart issue, not a gun issue.
What happened in San Bernardino (and other cases as well) is a tragedy. People feel it could be avoided because it was a gun free zone and everything else, but criminals DO NOT CARE what the rules are. When they want something done they will get it done. It’s because their heart is not in the right place. And they will get what they want however they can and they will accomplish whatever they want when they want. It’s as simple as that.
The only thing gun control is affecting is the innocent people. Perhaps if guns were allowed to be carried for protection, criminals would think twice because they know they may not be able to carry through with their agenda. Maybe they’ll still go through with it, but if others have guns at the same place, they won’t be as successful.
We were warned in 2 Timothy 3 that in the last days people would be unholy, brutal, not lovers of good, etc, etc, etc. Living in a fallen world we’ll always have criminals wanting to kill. Doesn’t matter what race, nationality, gender, age, socioeconomic class or religion you are. It’s about the heart, and unfortunately the heart tends to always lean toward evil.
Thanks for reading my opinion. I welcome yours 🙂
