What I am about to share with you, I would like you to pay full attention to. It’s no big deal, really, when I do book reviews. But this one is different. This one is a huge deal! Why? Because this novel that you’re about to see is hands down one of thee best romance novels that I’ve ever read. And truly believing that, I am so excited to share it with you, and am hoping you’ll also give it a chance. Like me, you’ll see why I highly recommend!

The book is called Her Best Match. It’s Book 1 in The Best Girls Series by Tamie Dearen. Let me stop there for just one minute. If you don’t know who Tamie Dearen is, please do yourself a favor and pick up one of her books. (If you like romance, make it Her Best Match!) Oh…my…goodness. She has talent! She’s not just romance, either. So, seriously, go check her out!

Back to the book. Let me share with you a little bit about it. Here is the blurb, as well as the front cover.

Feisty, stubborn, and bored with life in Texas, Anne Best is about to get more than she bargained for.

The lovely widow heads off to the Big Apple for a job interview, expecting no more than a few days adventure in New York City, only to find herself with a new job working for the most infuriating man she’s ever met.

Billionaire Steven Gherring is one of New York’s Most Eligible Bachelors, and he has every intention of staying that way. But Gram has other ideas. She’s on a not-so-secret campaign to find a wife for her grandson.

As fearless as she is clumsy, Anne tackles every challenge (including her new boss) enthusiastically, with two lone exceptions… public speaking and recognizing her own feelings. Passions rise along with hemlines as Gram joins forces with Anne, a veteran matchmaker, to find the perfect match for Steven.

This book currently has a 4.4 star rating out of 375 reviews!!!! That’s three hundred seventy five!! If you haven’t guessed by now, I rated it 5 stars. Here’s why…

I loved it!!! LOL…okay, okay. I know you need more. I’m not sure where to even start. I guess I’ll start with my feelings as the book progressed. First off, I found out in chapter one that the main female character was in her mid 40s. The first thing I thought to myself was that I wasn’t going to enjoy the book. This is going to make me look really bad, but I want to be honest. When I read a romance book, I like the characters to be in their 20s or maybe low 30s. It’s just a preference. So it was kind of a turn off to see the main female character was in her mid-40s. But I always finish what I start so I kept reading. Thank goodness I did!

All too soon I forgot how old anyone was and got immersed into the story itself. The different experiences the main female character went through were exciting, at times hilarious, but also breathtaking. Nothing about this book was boring. Nothing! The characters themselves were multi-dimensional, meaning there was more to them than just the main storyline. We got to see them interact with a variety of people, their personalities shining in various forms. We got some depth beyond the main characters to really help this book come full circle.

I loved how the two main characters finally came together. In fact, two of my favorite lines from the book deal with interactions between the two. They are:

  1. “Everything I do means something to me.”
  2. “You belong with me.”

Of course they don’t mean much written here. But when you’re engrossed in the story, getting the setting, the context, the atmosphere between the two, your insides just burn with happiness and excitement with where things might lead.

To top it off, there was even a slight surprise/twist at the end that I never saw coming! It was AWESOME!!!

This is a sweet, CLEAN, romance. But there are some really steamy spots that are well written and very enjoyable. The book flows nicely. The descriptions are fantastic. All I kept thinking to myself as I read this book is, WHY IS THIS NOT A MOVIE!!?!?!?!?!? Seriously, folks, I could see this on the big screen! If not there, it’s at least perfect for Hallmark.

And for some fun, guess who the author envisioned as she wrote this book? She kept picturing George Clooney as Steven and Sandra Bullock as Anne. YES, YES, YES!!!! Those two actors would be phenomenal, and I can totally picture it.

Now this is Book 1. But there is a Book 0 or Book 0.5, if you will. Basically, it’s a prequel to the series. It’s called The Best Is Yet To Come and focuses on Steven’s point of view leading up to when he meets Anne. Here is the cover and blurb:

Life has lost a sense of challenge for billionaire Steven Gherring, but he’s about to meet his match in a surprising package.

This free novella is a prequel and adjunct for Her Best Match, fun to read before or after the novel. It is a short look inside the head of Steven Gherring, who likes to control everything in his life. But just when he thinks nothing could ever surprise him, he meets Anne Best. His response to her surprises even himself! This is a quick read with sassy characters, providing an introduction to some of the main characters in Her Best Match. The book includes the first chapter of Her Best Match, as a preview.

I read this one after I read Book 1, Her Best Match. It was a nice compliment! This one I also rated 5 stars as the writing was just as great as Her Best Match. There are three more books in this series that I will be getting to at some point as well.

Before I go, let me fill you in on a secret. These two books are FREE!!! That’s right! You can get this awesomeness for FREE! So grab yourself a copy, relax, and enjoy the show. Oh, wait, I guess I mean book. LOL! But you’ll think you’re watching a movie OR at the very least, wish it was a movie like I did/do!!
