January 18, 2016, we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. day. Everyone knows what Martin Luther King Jr. is famous for. He made that famous “I Have a Dream” speech that ended up having a tremendous impact on those in 1963 all the way down through the generations to us today.

Martin Luther King Jr. lived and fought for his dream to end racism, and it was this speech that he made that day in August that became a defining moment in the civil rights movement. He never quit, and in many ways it paid off.

SnowJanuary in Michigan would make you think that snow is a given. However, this past season we have seen barely any snow at all. Christmas was green with temps way above freezing. Then as the new year rang in, temps remained above average and precipitation way below average. For me, that was depressing. It’s already the end of 2015! I can’t believe it. Can you? In my opinion, it doesn’t seem like it. Where I’m living, it should be cold and snowing, BUT Christmas was completely green and warm. Today, as I write this, it’s snowed a little, but it just doesn’t feel like that time of year where we should ring in another. Maybe it’s different where you are.
